The Institute’s Principal, Professor Preksedis Ndomba, has said today, April 24th, during the project’ steering committees’ tour to inspect the EASTRIP that:
“The hostels and a part of the teaching block are in use. Upon its full completion, the project will have a capacity to accommodate 2,000 students from the current 200,” he said.
The EASTRIP Coordinator, Dr Fredrick Salukele, commended the progress, affirming that apart from academic issues, the project is also for pastoralists after the leather processing ginnery becomes operational, provided that the Lake Zone has a high number of livestock.
“The ginnery, therefore, will be serving as a reliable market for hides and skins, to change people’s livelihood, economically,” he said.
