DODOMA: THE Ministry of Industry and Trade has tabled 135,788,232,000/- budget to finance its operations for the 2025/2026 financial year.

Presenting the ministry’s budget speech during the 24th session of the 19th Parliamentary Meeting in Dodoma, the Minister for Industry and Trade, Dr. Selemani Jafo, said that out of the total amount requested, 93,900,697,000/—will go towards recurrent expenditure, while 41,887,535,000/—is earmarked for development expenditure.

Dr. Jafo explained that within the recurrent budget, 819,380,000/- is allocated for salaries of the ministry’s staff members, and 18,081,317,000/- will cover other routine expenses.

Regarding development expenditure, Dr. Jafo noted that 27,870,710,000/- will be sourced domestically, while 14,016,825,000 is expected to come from international development partners.

The Minister emphasized that the proposed budget aims to enhance the business and investment environment, promote the development of local industries, and boost the contribution of the industrial sector to the country’s economic growth.
