DAR ES SALAAM: THE governments of Tanzania and Finland have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral trade and investment cooperation, aiming for a mutually beneficial partnership.
The pledge was made during the Tanzania–Finland Business and Investment Forum held in Dar es Salaam, which brought together key stakeholders from both countries’ public and private sectors.
Speaking at the event, Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, underscored Tanzania’s dedication to strengthening economic relations with Finland.
He highlighted the Tanzanian government’s ongoing efforts to improve the business climate, including simplifying licensing processes, reducing bureaucracy, and modernizing customs systems to enhance investor services.

He stated that the government is ready to collaborate with and support investors through the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC).
The Minister highlighted key sectors with great potential for investment and cooperation, including information and communication technology, health, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural technology.
He further emphasized that Tanzania does not seek to serve merely as a market for Finnish products, but rather as a reliable, long-term partner in trade and investment.
On his part, the President of the Republic of Finland, who led a delegation of business leaders and investors from Finland, praised Tanzania’s progress in creating a more investor-friendly environment.
He reiterated Finland’s readiness to work closely with Tanzania in areas such as education and vocational training, energy, health, agriculture, and environmental sustainability.
President Stubb, who was accompanied by a delegation of Finnish business leaders and investors, also underscored that Finland sees Tanzania as a key gateway for regional economic hub.
