NJOMBE: PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa yesterday urged the public, including students, to support, cherish and care for their peers with special needs, enabling them to achieve their dreams.
He said that students with special needs can now enrol in inclusive schools, thanks to improved infrastructure that allow them to learn and thrive.
He called on fellow students to show love and offer assistance so that they can achieve their goals.
The Premier was speaking during his visit to Njombe Girls’ Secondary School in Wanging’ombe District, Njombe Region.
“I am impressed by how you care for one another and love your fellow students with special needs, I ask you to continue loving, valuing and supporting them so that they can also achieve their dreams,” said Mr Majaliwa.
He expressed satisfaction with the construction and environment of the school.
The Premier was particularly impressed with the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems available and used by the school in the teaching and learning process.
“I am impressed by the ICT infrastructure at this school, it is my call to students to ensure that you take care of it so that it can benefit and help you to realise your educational goals,” urged the Premier.

Mr Majaliwa asserted that the sixth-phase government has made a significant investment in girls’ schools by constructing large and standardised schools in all regions in the country, which is in line with President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision.
“President Samia has made a substantial investment in the education sector and we are now witnessing the fruits of the projects,” he said.
Earlier, Deputy Minister in the Office of the President (Regional Administration and Local Government), Dr Festo Dugange said the government is doing everything in its powers to ensure there are enough education facilities across the country.
Dr Dugange, who is also Member of Parliament for Wanging’ombe Constituency, commended President Samia for facilitating the implementation of many other development projects including construction of healthcare provision facilities, water services and road infrastructure.
The school, whose infrastructure value stands at over 4bn/- features 22 classrooms, nine dormitories, a dining hall and a kitchen, including other facilities.
The school has already enrolled 460 students in diverse academic subjects.
