DAR ES SALAAM: NGORONGORO Heroes Coach, Boniface Mkwasa, has commended his team’s 2-1 victory over Uganda, acknowledging the win was a testament to the players’ hard work and commitment.

The coach made the remarks in a post-match press conference, saying: “This victory was not merely a stroke of luck; it was a result of our players’ hard work, talent and commitment on the pitch.”

He added: “We showcased what football looks like in Tanzania. The way our young players performed reflects the high standard of football in our country.”

The victory not only secured Tanzania’s place in the CECAFA Under-20 finals against Kenya but also earned them a coveted spot in next year’s Africa U-20 Cup of Nations finals.

Coach Mkwasa revealed that after a match against Kenya, they have placed plans to play several friendly matches that will serve as vital preparation for the upcoming AFCON finals next year.

“We are looking to select ideal training locations and create opportunities for our players to grow and develop further,” he said.
