AS universities from across the country release the second batch of names of students selected to pursue undergraduate studies, the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) has opened the third window of applications for students who missed out chances during the previous windows.
The second batch of the names of successful applicants are expected to be unveiled today by all universities countrywide, according to TCU Executive Secretary, Professor Charles Kihampa.
“Due to requests from the Tanzania Higher Learning Institutions Students Organisation (TAHLISO), asking TCU to open another window to enable those who did not apply or failed to obtain admission in the first two rounds for any reasons, TCU has decided to open yet another window which will remain open for the next five days beginning tomorrow (today),’’ he noted.

The TCU boss said that the third window which opens today will remain open for five consecutive days until October 09, 2024. “The commission wishes to remind those who, for any reason failed to send their applications during the second window, to use this opportunity well,” he added.
He said interested applicants can send their applications directly to the higher learning institutions of their choice, where they will receive relevant information on the process of joining and the qualification of the applicants.
“TCU also wishes to direct all universities from across the country to announce the undergraduate programmes which are up for grabs in order to facilitate applications smoothly,’’ added Prof Kihampa.
As universities from across the country announce names of successful applicants during the second batch today, TCU reminded those who will receive multiple admissions to confirm only one university of their choice.
Beginning today, students with multiple admissions have until October 21, 2024 to send their confirmation to only one higher learning institution.
Confirmation needs the special personal identification number (PIN) sent to respective applicants through mobile phone numbers or email addresses used to file in applications, he said.
“Those who fail to get the notification on time are required to go to the admission system and request for it, to obtain the PIN,” he said.
