DAR ES SALAAM: Stanbic Bank Tanzania has been named Best International Private Bank in Tanzania at the 2025 Euromoney Private Banking Awards.

This recognition affirms the bank’s leadership in delivering high-value financial services and its commitment to the unique needs of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and affluent clients.

The Euromoney Awards honour institutions that demonstrate excellence in wealth management and client service across global, regional, and national categories. The award positions Stanbic as a benchmark for private banking in Tanzania.

The accolade underscores the strength of Stanbic’s Private Banking Unit, which has consistently delivered bespoke wealth management solutions, expert advice, and personalized strategies to help clients grow and protect their wealth.

The unit’s client-first approach has redefined private banking in the country.

At the award ceremony held in London on March 27, Stanbic Bank Tanzania was represented by Omari Mtiga, Head of Personal and Private Banking, and Shangwe Kisanji, Head of Private Banking. Speaking on behalf of the team, they said, “This recognition is a testament to the exceptional value we provide and the deep trust our clients place in us.”

This milestone highlights a significant moment in the bank’s 30-year journey in Tanzania. For three decades, Stanbic has blended local knowledge with global expertise to offer transformative banking experiences. The bank continues to lead in areas such as investment solutions, financial planning, estate planning, family banking, insurance services, and digital banking.

Chief Executive Manzi Rwegasira stated, “This recognition is especially meaningful as we celebrate 30 years in Tanzania. Our focus has always been on putting clients at the centre of our strategy and delivering solutions that align with Tanzania’s unique dynamics.

We remain committed to deepening relationships, driving innovation, and supporting national development.”

Omari Mtiga added, “Our work with local businesses and entrepreneurs demonstrates our commitment to economic empowerment. This award reflects our focus on creating tailored financial solutions that help clients thrive.”

In addition to the Tanzania recognition, Stanbic Group was named Best Private Bank in Africa and Best Private Bank for Client Education by Global Finance.

These continental awards further validate the Group’s consistent delivery of value-driven, client-focused services across African markets.

Euromoney’s Chief Research Officer, Andrei Charniauski, noted, “The 2025 winners represent the pinnacle of service and innovation in global banking. They are trailblazers, setting new benchmarks across the industry.”

Stanbic’s continued growth is anchored in long-term client relationships, innovation, and meaningful contributions to Tanzania’s economic future.
