About NMCZ

The General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNCZ) is a Statutory Body, established in 1970 under the Nurses and Midwives Act No.55 of 1970 which was repealed and replaced by the Nurses and Midwives Council of Zambia (NMCZ) Act No. 31 of 1997. This Act redefined the functions of the Council and expanded the scope of practice for NMCZ which stands for Nurses and Midwives Council of Zambia. The Act also provides for the establishment of private practice.

Each nurse practicing in Zambia is required to be registered and licensed with the General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNCZ) under the Nurses and Midwives Act No. 31 of 1997 of the Laws of Zambia. Requirements for Registration – Nurses Trained in Zambia. 1. Access the NMCZ Online Registration Portal
2. Enter Cadre
3. Enter your Registration Number (E.g EN 1234)
4. Input your NRC Number
5. Enter your Valid Email
6. Tap on the Register for Online Services button

2. Enter your Email Address and Password
3. Tap on the Sign In button
